i’m taking a nap, and I hear my mom walk into the house laughing. It’s my dad‘s house and he would never let her inside. She goes to the bathroom and my phone starts ringing. It’s her. I get confused because she’s blocked. Why are the calls going through? I decline it. She calls 21 more times, I decline all of them. I try to go to sleep. She barges into my room and starts slamming on my chest, banging on my torso with her hands in a fist. She’s yelling at me, saying I’m your mother. You should respect me blah blah blah. She’s hitting me so hard that my ears go deaf and I can’t hear anything. I can’t breathe. I’m stunned. I managed to get up and push her against the wall. My little brother comes in the room and tells me to hear her out. I’m furious, why would I hear her out if she was just hitting me?? I can’t find my dad anywhere. She continues to yell at me, but I can barely hear her. She leaves the room and comes back with a hard plastic box. And throws it at me. I push her out the door yelling get out get out get out.
This dream is deeply symbolic and loaded with emotional tension, suggesting unresolved feelings and conflicts within your family dynamics. Here's a detailed interpretation of its elements:
Setting: Dad's House: The dream takes place in your father's house, representing a place of security and boundaries that he maintains. Your mother's unexpected presence signifies a breach of these boundaries, possibly reflecting real-life situations where emotional or physical boundaries might feel challenged or ignored.
Mother's Intrusion and Call: Your mother's entrance and repeated calls, despite being blocked, suggest unresolved issues or emotions that are difficult to avoid or block out in waking life. It highlights a persistent, perhaps unwanted intrusion into your mental space, possibly representing attempts to reconnect or communicate something important.
Physical Confrontation: The physical conflict with your mother, where she is hitting you and you're unable to hear her due to the deafening impacts, symbolizes a feeling of being overwhelmed by her actions or words. It could reflect real-life experiences of being emotionally or verbally overwhelmed by someone, especially if past interactions have been harsh or damaging.
Loss of Hearing and Breath: Your deafness and difficulty breathing indicate feelings of helplessness or suffocation in the face of overwhelming family pressures. It might symbolize the inability to make your voice heard or your side understood within family discourse.
Brother's Intervention: Your brother entering the scene and urging you to listen, presents a perspective of reconciliation or mediation. It suggests that there might be some part of you that wishes to understand and resolve the conflict, even if the emotional turmoil feels too intense to handle directly.
Search for Father: Not being able to find your dad could reflect a need for support, protection, or advice in situations where you feel vulnerable. It might indicate a sense of abandonment or absence of the firm support you expect or wish for.
The Plastic Box: The plastic box thrown at you could symbolize unavoidable truths or issues being hurled your way. Its hard nature suggests that these issues have caused pain or require immediate attention. It highlights the tangible impact of what's being metaphorically "thrown" at you in life.
The Act of Pushing Her Out: Finally, pushing your mother out of the room symbolizes a strong desire to re-establish boundaries and regain control over your personal space. The act of yelling "get out" signifies a powerful assertion of independence and self-defense against perceived emotional invasion.
Overall, this dream indicates significant stress and unresolved feelings regarding your relationship with your mother, hinting at a need to address deep-seated conflicts, set clear boundaries, and seek resolution, perhaps with the support of other family members or a professional. It speaks to your inner turmoil and the complexities within family dynamics, urging reflection and action to alleviate the emotional weight.
